Global Library Aid Project
Insight is a long-standing member of the Australian Medical Students’ Association’s Global Health Network, an organisation linking global health groups throughout Australia. Each year, the GHN launches its national project, which in 2010 is entitled the Global Library Aid Project (GLAP). As part of the project, GHGs throughout Australian medical schools collect donations of medical textbooks and related items which they send to under-resourced medical schools in developing communities. The GLAP aims to foster partnerships between Australian medical schools and overseas universities, and empowers Australian students to support our fellow medical students throughout the world. Insight has chosen to support Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College, one of only four medical schools in Tanzania. We are thus seeking donations of medical textbooks, medical equipment, stationery items and USBs to send to Kilimanjaro, and would appreciate any donations you would be able to offer.
A red bin is situated in the clinical common room of the Eleanor Harrald Building for donations, and they can also be dropped at the MLTU office on the ground floor of the medical school.
