Quiz/Talent Night
2011 Date: August 5th
Location: Estonian Hall, North Adelaide 

A collaborative event between INSIGHT and the Adelaide Medical Student’s Society, the Quiz/Talent Night showcases the brightest of students and the most talented of actors, musicians and playwrights!

Organise a table with 9 of your friends and compete against 200 others to be crowned quiz champions. You can nominate yourself or a group of you to participate in the talent side of the night. Get out your guitar, loosen those vocal chords or practice that slap-stick comedy and get out in front of your peers and perform!

Prizes on offer for the best ‘artists’ and brightest tables!
Photo Exhibition ‘a thousand words’
2011 Opening Night: May 12th

Guest Speaker: Dr Rajiv Choudrie and Dr Deepa Choudrie

For the past 22 years, husband and wife team Rajiv (onco-plastic surgeon doing cranio facial surgery) and Deepa (radiologist) have been working at the Padhar Evangelical Lutheran Hospital in Madhya Pradesh, near Vellore in central India. Their work is mainly with tribal people and in rural outreach areas. They have many inspiring and insightful experiences to share.

Photos reveal the universality of life. Photos highlight our astonishing human diversity, and capture those small moments where the similarities between us overwhelm our differences. Photos tell stories of injustice and despair, of equality and inequality, of sorrow and hope. Photos tell a thousand words.

First developed by Monash University, INSIGHT introduced this into our calendar in 2007. Students from all backgrounds submit photos that they feel capture the essence of a community. These photos can be joyful, inspiring but often are quite confronting.

Welcome BBQ

Keen to become familiar with the intricate workings within INSIGHT? Every year, within the first two weeks of the university calendar, INSIGHT holds a ‘welcome BBQ’ for new members, which doubles as a ‘welcome back!’ BBQ for current members.
Development Fund Dinner

As the major fundraiser for the INSIGHT Development Fund, the Development Fund Dinner is held to attract professionals to a fun, informative and relaxing night. We aim to use this night to update doctors, dentists, and other professionals on the projects and events that INSIGHT has implemented throughout the year, as well as informing you of future INSIGHT projects. We ask for your support through a number of fundraisers held throughout the night which include guest speaker(s), international music, auctions and raffles.
